Here’s something that will have you and your rugby-playing youngsters hopping about like egg-laden bunnies on Easter Sunday; that’s the day we open the gates, mark out the pitches and (crucially) lift the Sin Bin shutters as rugby gets underway again at The Triangle Field.
It’s been a long time coming but – fingers crossed – we can now look forward to a couple of months of Springtime rugby, as the RFU has extended the season to the end of May.
Obviously, the country is not clear of the pandemic by a long way so all the restrictions which were in place before our last enforced break will still be there: hand sanitising, social distancing, staggered start and finish times, no access to clubhouse lounge and bar, prompt arrivals and departures and amended playing rules.
Our super-efficient team managers will be in touch over the next couple of weeks and we’ll send out a detailed reminder of all the protocols as we approach April 4. We would like to stress that there is no obligation to come to training for anyone who is concerned about mixing. As always, health, safety and good practice are central to all that we as a club stand for.
We may have a couple of weeks more of enforced absence from The Triangle, but for now let’s just glory in the anticipation of busy Sunday mornings full of kids having fun and chucking a rugby ball around. And eating hot dogs.
See you on April 4!
