The monsoon conditions throughout the game did not make it easy for the teams but despite this both sides tried to move the ball throughout the game.

Tadley got off to a good start with their winger twice jinking through from deep and on both occasions Matt Stevens tracked back and caught him with a last gasp tackle just before the try line. The pressure eventually told when after a series of driving plays close to the Hungerford line the Tadley back row crash over for the only try of the game.

Hungerford absorbed a lot of pressure in the first half with John Tempest and Ashley Stokes putting in some good defensive tackles.Matt Stevens got a chance  on his own 10m line and after a searing break passed to Henry Mills deep in the Tadley 22m, however ,the ball was just knocked from his grasp when a try looked on the cards.

The rest of the first half remained a tight affair with Scott and Nick Blair in the centres  offering stiff resistance to the Tadley attack.

The second half saw a more open game with the rain a little lighter and both sides trying to bring their backs into the game.Following the sin binning of the Tadley flanker   Hungerford managed to come back against the dominant Tadley pack and following a series of forward thrusts Toby Gale made good ground and slipped the ball to Harley Bloomfield who was only stopped from opening Hungerford's account by a fantastic tackle just short of the line.Hungerford led by Henry Mills at scrum half  continued to pound on the Tadley line however the Tadley defence stood tall and finally cleared their lines.

The game was put beyond Hungerford when after another fine break by the Tadley No. 8 resulted in a penalty which the Tadley kicked duly slotted. 

Hungerford's man of the match was Ashley Stokes for his excellent work at the breakdown and in defence.
