On Sunday 4th August 24 Hungerford Rugby Club welcomed back former Junior players Carys Cox and Ollie Allan.
Carys started her rugby in the Mini section and was coached by a number of coaches including former Junior Chairman, Coach and Mum Tracy Cox and former Coach, Club Chairman and Dad Rob Cox.
Carys found her enjoyment for rugby in the Hungerford Mini's and Juniors before moving onto a glittering career playing for Worcester Warriors to her current club Ealing Trailfinders and winning International Honours where Carys is regularly seen pulling on the red Jersey of Wales , most recently starring for Wales by scoring a hat-trick in their recent must win game against Spain in their World Cup qualifier.
Ollie also started his rugby journey at Hungerford in the Mini and Junior Sections under the coaching tutelage of Matt Galbraith and former Head & Junior Coach, Junior Chairman and Dad Steve Allan.
Ollie in conjunction with brother Tom who still plays for the Club's Senior side, soon established themselves as exceptional talents and immersed themselves in the leading of their teams both at training and in games.Ollie continued his development with London Irish before transferring onto his current club Leicester Tigers. After making his Tigers Debut, Ollie has gone onto star as scrum half for England U20's in their fantastic run in winning the World Cup against France in South Africa.
The Club awarded both Players with Life Memberships and a framed 40th Anniversary Jersey to commemorate their fantastic achievements and all at the club are extremely proud of the recognition they have brought to Hungerford Rugby Club and the Town.
