HRFC's Warriors girls were back at The Stoop for the second time in as many weeks carrying out important duties as official ball girls. This time out was the U16s girls and the game in question was the England v Ireland legends match on the eve of the same fixture in the Men's 6 Nations.
With legends from both teams taking to the field, the girls were treated to a masterclass in tries, outrageous celebrations and a spot of the ol' dark arts. The pleyers were very generous with the girls with lots of autographs and selfies with legends like Shane Byrne, the fun bus himself Jason Leonard.
Ireland won the contest 32-54 with tries and conversions a-plenty keeping the girls very busy.
The annual charity match for the Stuart Mangan Trophy has been played since 2010 following the untimely passing of Stuart, who played for Hammersmith & Fulham RFC in London. This year all money raised at the upcoming match will go towards the Moody Family Trust. In 2025, World Cup winner Lewis Moody revealed that he had been diagnosed with motor neurone disease (MND), and the rugby world has quickly rallied round the popular ex-England flanker as he battles the degenerative condition.
Special thanks to Barry Mangan and his son Ollie (proud HRFC Hurricane) and family for giving the girls such an amazing opportunity.
