After a six year break, Hungerford RFC's Car Boot Sale returned on Sunday 10th August - and the community turned out to suppprt. The club car park was crammed with sellers; with the kind of unexpected treasures that make car booting such a joy.
Alongside the stalls, visitors enjoyed a lively tombola, plus drinks and home made cakes to keep the energy going.
Visitors were quick to praise the club's friendly atmosphere and it's stunning location and views out over the pitches. Club organisers were delighted with the turnout, marking this as a fantastic relaunch of an event not seen since 2019. With demand from both sellers and buyers high, it definitely won't be quite so long until the next car boot takes placed at Hungerford Rugby Club.
Sellers set up from 9am, with everything from vintage homeware and children’s toys to car parts and fashion. With free admission for buyers, the event drew a steady stream of bargain hunters. As one cheerful buyer quipped - whilst holding his newly procured cuddly sheep - "You never know what you’ll find at a car boot". As if to make his point, Lou Evans of the club was seen bartering over three ornate pineapple-shaped lamps...
