With a worrying rise in the abuse of Match Officials, Berkshire RFU have asked their member clubs to do more to stamp out this ugly - but thankfully very infrequent - facet of competitive sport. World Rugby Law 9.28 is unequivocal about respecting the authority of the referee. And RFU Regulation 19 is clear that that abuse of a match official is one of the most serious offences in the game.
As a club we stand firm on our commitment to the core values of our sport and specifically against the abuse of match officials. Our integrity on and off the pitch demands that we treat all match officials with the utmost respect.
Please see the video which explores the serious problem of referee abuse and the resulting shortage of officials in the community game.
